Volunteers at SPNN

Volunteers are essential to SPNN's mission of empowering people to use media and communications to better lives, use authentic voice, and build common understanding. Utilizing volunteers allows SPNN to offer programs and services to a greater number of individuals and empower them to express themselves through media. SPNN’s programs teach youth and adults the importance of self-expression through digital media to create meaningful connections within a diverse community.

Volunteers at SPNN serve in a variety of roles including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting class instructors teach media making classes to youth and adults

  • Serving on a crew to film and edit local community events such as political debates, parades, and festivals

  • Mentoring new media makers

  • Planning events such as film screenings, fundraisers, and SPNN’s annual meeting

  • Assisting with administrative tasks
