Hallie Q. Brown Community Center is a historic social service hub in the Rondo legacy community in St. Paul that provides holistic lifespan support and legacy cultivation.  Since 1929, we exist to give life to our communities: to add quality to our lives, extend quantity to our years, to enrich the minds of our youth, and to be the central resource and gathering place for community and their stories.   In practice, this takes form in a diverse array of programming provided throughout the life continuum.

Hallie Q. Brown Community Center provides accessible programming that aims to meet the needs of the community. We offer comprehensive programs, services, and events across lifespan (children’s education, youth development, adult services, senior services, health resources, basic need support, community gatherings, and community archival services) ensuring that every member of our community has access to what they need to live rich lives.

As the Lighthouse of the Community and symbol of resilience, we are committed to expanding our services and being the administrator of this facility to enhance community gathering, community health and longevity, as well as culturally rich expressions and engagements. Through our initiatives: we stay tethered to our past, actively engaged and serve our present, and work to inspire our future and extend our future. We do that through cultivating a space that centers Black people and remembers their experiences, serves all people with love and dignity, and where the whole community is equipped to thrive.

Hallie has been a host-site this year for the Partners In Prevention free community health clinics in partnership with Metro State University and Hue-Man Partnership, we administer voting on-site registration through Parks and Rec, Free tax clinics, community sponsored events, Aging adult seminars and events, while daily offering Basic Needs Support. Hallie Q. Brown also offers a community archive, and we directly served over 20,000 people last year while distributing over 400,000 pounds of food and more than a ton of clothes to our neighbors.
