SPNN Youth

The YIP application deadline of May 1st, has now passed.  Thank you to all St. Paul youth who applied!  We will be reviewing applications and interns will be selected by June 11th.  Please note that due to the number of applicantions we receive, we are not personally able to reply to all applicants.

SPNN Youth Programs has a position available with the Neighborhood Video Project, a program working with middle-school aged youth to create media about historical and contemporary experiences in three neighborhoods in Saint Paul.  

YAC has been busy this past month interviewing potential CTEP Americorps members for the Set It Up Assistant Coordinator position. It is important for youth to have a voice in the hiring process, as the CTEP Americorps member work closely with the Set It Up crew.

Today in SIU we're just doing a lot of excess work, but recently we finished eiting our segments and we are ready to put them on the air. Just yesterday we filmed our large studio shoot and had a lot of fun. Sue, we were acting a little silly at times but humor shows energy, energy shows enthusiasm, and enthusiasm draws a crowd!

We've been busy these last two weeks at the Neighborhood Video Project conducting interviews and starting our video diary projects. 

The interviews, with long term and recent residents of the neighborhood, business owners, and other community members have yielded some really great stories.

The Set It Up crew is hard at work on their second episode of the season,“True Teen Life.” With one episode under their belts, the crew have increased the pace of production and are creating segments covering relationships, style, teen pregnancy, and sexual orientation.
