WHAT: The Canvas Teen Leadership Council has open positions! This group meets twice per month to plan various Canvas activities—what kinds of workshops should we offer? What should the space look like? What events or concerts should we organize?

Urban Textile Design Workshop at the Canvas

WHAT: Roger Cummings of Juxtaposition Arts will lead a nine-day workshop around creating designs, screen-printing t-shirts, airbrushing shoes and much more. If you’re interested in visual art, fashion or urban art in any capacity, this is the place to be. You’ll also get a free shirt at the end of the workshop.

WHEN: September 20-24 and 27-30. 6-8pm each day.

Stop Motion and Light Painting

I am going to try out the new blog and post a link to an interesting stop motion technique you may have seen in some Sprint commercials last fall. I will be teaching a class about this soon at the Science Museum. To paint with light you use long exposure photography to capture the path of the light in the image. This group from germany then strings the images together to create stop motion animation. Maybe a little much for a workshop but still some really amazing stop motion...
