SAM Animation

SAM Animation is a free software from Tufts that helps make stop motion animation easier. It has a lot of the same features as iStopMotion. We used it a little bit in the RRTV class I taught this summer but its worth checking out:

Stop Motion and Light Painting

I am going to try out the new blog and post a link to an interesting stop motion technique you may have seen in some Sprint commercials last fall. I will be teaching a class about this soon at the Science Museum. To paint with light you use long exposure photography to capture the path of the light in the image. This group from germany then strings the images together to create stop motion animation. Maybe a little much for a workshop but still some really amazing stop motion...
