SPNN Youth receives Cultural STAR grant

SPNN is very excited to announce that the Cultural STAR program of the City of Saint Paul has awarded us with $15,000 in support of our Equipping SPNN Youth Capital Campaign!

SPNN Youth is home to a variety of innovative and award winning youth media programs. We’re very proud of our nationally recognized programs, but the rapid advances in technology have made it difficult to provide our participants with the high quality equipment they deserve. This Cultural STAR grant will help us acquire new cameras and laptops, enabling us to serve more youth, more effectively, with state-of-the-art, professional level equipment.

The Cultural STAR Program was created to promote economic growth in Saint Paul by strengthening the arts and cultural sector and by supporting Downtown as a vital cultural center. The Saint Paul City Council has designated ten percent of the total tax revenue from this program to grants and loans for cultural projects. At least eighty percent of Cultural STAR funds will be invested in projects located within the targeted area known as the Cultural District- projects like SPNN Youth. SPNN is excited to be a part of this vital and growing cultural district.

On behalf of all of us here at SPNN, thank you Cultural STAR for your generous support!
