Learn how to market your project at SPNN

If you’re an Access producer, you know how much work creating your show can be. But once you’ve finally completed your program and turned it in to SPNN, you’re faced with another question- how can you make sure anyone tunes in? There are many inexpensive ways to market your projects, but how can you maximize their potential?

SPNN is here to guide you- we want to help you amplify your message as easily as possible. Learning basic marketing is one of the best things you can do to increase your program’s reach. To help you best find and connect with your audience, the Access Center is offering a series of basic marketing workshops, including Facebook Fan Pages, Twitter, and Making a PSA for your Show

In Facebook Fan Pages on June 7th at 6pm, learn all the basics of setting up your first Facebook Fan Page from SPNN’s Online Communications Coordinator, Nickey Robare. Designed for individuals who have a basic familiarity of Facebook, this workshop will lead you through setting up a page, finding fans, and curating content that keeps your fans interested and engaged. We’ll also cover the basics of Facebook advertising, a surprisingly inexpensive and effective tool.

In Twitter on June 26th at 6pm, also taught by Nickey Robare, no experience is necessary to begin using the world’s most popular micro-blogging site. You’ll learn how to set up an official Twitter account for your project, find followers, use Twitters many unique features for connecting with other users, and keep your followers. Twitter is powerful, simple, and free- you really can’t go wrong!

In Making a PSA for your Show July 16th at 6pm, Carol Critchley, SPNN staff Producer, and Maria Tototzintle, SPNN Access Coordinator, will teach members the importance of creating a promo for your show.  You’ll learn what to include in your promo, how to create a storyboard, how the finished product should look and feel, and what it should say to the audience.

Each of these workshops is $15 for limited income members, $25 for members, and $45 for non-members. Register for all three for only $30 for limited income members, $60 for members, and $105 for non-members! The skills you’ll learn in these workshops can be used for marketing any project with a small budget, not just access shows. Sign up today!
